Allison Transmission will present its fully automatic transmission and propulsion system solutions for the urban and intercity bus industry professionals at one of the sector’s leading events, Busworld Türkiye 2026

Istanbul, Turkey, June 2026 – Allison Transmission will showcase its broad product portfolio for passenger transportation, from 6.5 metre minibuses and 7-10 metre midibuses to 12 metre buses at Busworld Turkey (Istanbul Expo Center, June 17–19, 2026).

Turkey is among the world’s leading bus manufacturing hubs due to the strong production infrastructure, advanced supplier ecosystem and high export capacity. Exporting mainly to Europe, as well as to the Middle East, Africa, and North America, Turkish manufacturers compete globally across city bus, intercity coach, tourism, and alternative-fuel vehicle segments. Leading Turkish manufacturers, particularly Anadolu Isuzu, Otokar and TEMSA – all customer of Allison Transmission – are active in many international markets.

Allison Transmission stands out with a range of fully automatic transmission solutions in bus applications. Allison’s 1000 SeriesTM and 2000 SeriesTM Torqmatic transmissions provide many flexible solutions for light and medium duty bus applications, offering compatibility with engines ranging from 210 to 365 horsepower (154-272 kW) and torque capacity up to 780 N·m. Allison’s 3000 SeriesTM Torqmatic transmissions are preferred in medium and heavy duty bus segments, supporting engines from 210 to 380 horsepower (157-336 kW) and offering torque capacity up to 1,650 N·m.

A highlight at Busworld is the Allison 9 Speed transmission, specifically developed to meet the operational requirements of midibus applications. This specialised transmission supports up to 300 horsepower (224 kW) and torque capacities of up to 895 N·m. Featuring nine forward gears and three overdrive ratios, the Allison 9-Speed presents higher efficiency, improved fuel economy and reduced maintenance costs, especially in urban duty cycles with frequent stop-and-go operation. Allison will also display the T3375R xFETM fully automatic transmission, mostly preferred in the 12-metre city bus segment.

In urban bus applications, Allison technologies provide comfort in driving and efficiency in operations under demanding duty cycles, which involve low average speeds, heavy traffic and frequent start-stop driving. Thanks to Allison Continuous Power TechnologyTM, gear shifts are smoother and uninterrupted, which decreases driver fatigue while significantly improving the comfort of the passengers.

Allison’s torque converter smoothly multiplies engine torque and transfers more power to the wheels, which enable faster acceleration, superior launch performance and enhanced manoeuvrability. Unlike manual or automated manual transmissions (AMTs), Allison fully automatic transmissions deliver continuous power without interruption during the gear changes.

Because of the fact that Allison transmissions utilize a torque converter instead of a dry clutch, the clutch wear and the related maintenance costs are eliminated. The torque converter design also reduces wear on drivetrain components, which result in longer component life and lower total cost of ownership. Furthermore, the optional retarder system significantly reduces wear on service brakes.

Visitors can visit Allison Transmission at Booth B60 in Hall 2 of the Istanbul Expo Center. In addition to the Allison stand, Allison fully automatic transmissions can also be viewed in vehicles displayed by OEM manufacturers participating in the exhibition.
