AVIEMORE, Scotland – Allison Transmission will exhibit at the APSE Scotland Fleet, Waste and Grounds Seminar in Aviemore, May 15th to 18th 2018. Visitors to the event – the largest Scottish trade exhibition of its kind – will be able to speak to Allison experts in municipal and construction truck applications and learn about the company’s latest proprietary fuel-saving innovation, FuelSense® 2.0.
FuelSense 2.0 is the latest software release that is available on all Allison on-highway fully automatic transmissions. It uses DynActive Shifting to provide an infinitely variable combination of shift points and utilises a learning algorithm to continuously optimise the balance of fuel economy and performance. FuelSense 2.0 has demonstrated fuel economy gains up to 6 percent in the most demanding, heavy start-stop duty-cycles that will be familiar to APSE event visitors from local authority fleets, particularly those with vehicles operating in cities and highly congested urban areas.
“In municipal applications such as waste collection, recycling and road maintenance, vehicle failure is not an option, which is why Allison continues to develop fully automatic transmissions that can handle difficult conditions and perform continuously at peak level, every single day, while delivering superior performance and outstanding vehicle safety. Allison Transmission is matching that with the continual development of fuel economy measures, responding to the modern-day pressures on council purse-strings and the drive to reduce emissions,” says Nathan Wilson, market development manager at Allison Transmission.
“We look forward to meeting fleet managers at the APSE Scotland seminar and demonstrating the continued business case for fully automatic transmissions. We are pleased to learn that so many of our fellow exhibitors’ latest vehicles on display at the APSE Scotland event will be equipped with Allison transmissions.”
